Terms and Conditions for the Sale of Young Chicks

Thank you for your interest in our young chicks! We’re delighted to support your growing flock. To ensure a smooth and informed purchasing experience, please read and agree to the following terms and conditions before purchasing:

  1. Unsexed Chick Sales:
    We offer young, freshly hatched, unsexed chicks (up to 6 weeks of age) during the breeding season. Because chicks are sold unsexed, you may receive both males and females in your order. Please be prepared to manage or rehome any roosters, as we are not able to take them back.

  2. Rooster Rehoming:
    While we’re here to assist, we cannot guarantee rehoming options for roosters. Therefore, we ask all buyers to have a plan in place for any unwanted roosters before making a purchase.

  3. Appenzeller Chicks:
    Appenzeller chicks are known to be somewhat delicate in their early stages. We do our best to provide healthy, strong chicks, but we encourage extra care with this breed to ensure they thrive in their new environment.

  4. Pre-payment and Availability:
    All chick orders must be prepaid at the time of purchase. We only advertise chicks that are already available, ensuring they are ready for transport or pickup without delay.

  5. Transport Arrangements:
    Buyers are responsible for arranging their own transport for chicks, including pickup directly from our farm. For convenience, we are happy to meet transport at a pre-arranged location within 50 km of our farm, with an additional travel charge of $2 per km (based on total round trip distance). Purchased chicks must have transport arranged within 14 days of purchase unless otherwise arranged.

  6. Returns and Refunds:
    Due to biosecurity and livestock handling protocols, we cannot accept returns or offer refunds once chicks have left our premises. This policy is in place to protect the health and safety of all our animals. If there are any issues with your order upon pickup or delivery, please let us know within 24 hours, and we will do our best to assist.

  7. Risk:
    All risk lies with the purchaser once the chicks have left our care. This includes during transport.
