Colours Available Currently: Silver Spangled
We offer Appenzeller Spitzhauben chickens in both silver spangled and gold spangled varieties. These rare and striking birds are known for their unique appearance, with their spangled plumage and signature forward-swept crests. Appenzellers are hardy, active foragers and make a great addition to any flock with their inquisitive and independent nature.
We have fertile eggs, young unsexed chickens, and breeding trios available for sale this season. There is a waitlist and due to their popularity, a holding deposit is required to secure your chickens, with the balance due prior to pickup.

Frequently asked questions about buying from Tarcombe Farm
How do I know what is currently available?
This Animals For Sale page is updated as birds, goats and ponies become available. Availability changes through the season, so we recommend checking back regularly or getting in touch through our contact page if you are looking for something specific.
Do you take a deposit to hold an animal?
Yes. A deposit secures your animal and confirms your pickup. We will walk you through the process when you enquire, and any deposit terms are confirmed in writing before payment.
How does pickup work?
Tarcombe Farm is open by appointment only. Once your animal is reserved, we book a pickup time that suits both of us, and we always allow time on the day to talk through care, feeding, housing and any breed-specific tips.
Do you transport animals?
We do not transport animals ourselves, but we are happy to recommend reputable livestock and poultry transporters who service Victoria and interstate. Buyers are welcome to arrange their own collection or transport.
What about health and welfare before they go home?
All animals leaving Tarcombe Farm are healthy, well-handled and have been raised under our sustainable and ethical breeding principles. We will discuss vaccination, worming, biosecurity and any breed-specific care needs at pickup, and we are always available afterwards if you have questions.
