Deena spent the first 11 years of her life as a brilliant kids’ pony, helping her previous owner grow from a beginner to an accomplished rider. She joined us at Tarcombe in 2022 as a second pony for Laura, and we quickly fell in love with her, making it impossible to part with her. Deena and Laura primarily competed in dressage both at pony club and interschools. Now, with Laura having moved on to her next pony, Deena has proudly become the first foundation mare for Tarcombe Welsh Ponies.
With her beautiful, expressive movement and a pleasure-to-train attitude, Deena has all the talent needed to progress through the dressage grades, and we’re excited to see her foals future. They’re sure to be super stars too.
Deena is currently on lease to Mandel Welsh Ponies for the 2027 foaling season.
Mithril She’s Wicked – “Luna”

Despite her name, Luna is anything but wicked! She’s an incredibly sweet mare with the trainability and elegant movement that Mithril ponies are renowned for. Her sire, Westbury Spitfire, is an FEI Grand Prix level dressage superstar, and his exceptional movement has certainly been passed on to Luna.
Luna is one of the bravest ponies we’ve encountered, handling new experiences with the calm confidence of a seasoned veteran. She even chooses to jump logs in the paddock rather than go around them, which makes us very excited about her future. Luna was gently started over 2026 and has had a few HC outings at dressage events. Her education will kick back off after her first foal.
